I have always had a thing for porches and when we moved into this house 4 years ago I couldn't wait to decorate the porch for the holidays! This year I went all out for the 4th...actually I did this back in May for Memorial Day and figured it was good for flag day in June, the 4th of July and here in Utah the 24th of July (we commemorate the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley after being forced to leave Nauvoo, Illinois and other eastern states in 1847)

Last night I sat on my porch and watched the sunset....

And listened to the sounds of summer...

Neighborhood children laughing, pops of fireworks, crickets chirping, light breeze rustling the leaves on the trees and just thought about how blessed we are!

Here is an easy dessert that makes it look like you have spent lots of time and effort to make.

This is a lemon box cake mix that I made but I used 4 eggs, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup oil, 3/4 cup sour cream. Bake at 350 until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

There was not one piece left!

I can't get enough of these fluffly pink roses...I don't even the name of them but I bought them last year because of their sweet smelling aroma and pretty pink color.

They remind me of my other favorite flower...peonies! A miniature sized one at that but nonetheless gorgeous, far grant and best of all...fluffy!

I made a simple graham cracker crust-

12 graham crackers

6 T butter

2 T brown sugar

I used my cuisinart and mixed it all together and pressed it into the tart pan. Bake at 350 for 8 - 10 min until it becomes slightly browned. Cool

The filling was instant banana pudding (what I had on hand) if I had had some whipping cream and cream cheese I would have added that to the pudding to make it a little more flavorable.

Then all I did was cut off the greens of lots of berries and placed them cut side down on top of the pudding and voila it is done!

It looks like I really worked hard at creating this but it was so simple!

I don't have a picture of myself in these shorts to show you you them on me..but I love them! They are so comfortable and I love the length and the stretch. They are from Downeast in fact all of these clothes I like are from Downeast.

I think this little camp shirt would be so versatile for summer dressed up with a little necklace like shown and worn with shirts, skirt or pants.

I will have to put together an outfit with my shirts and show them off next time :)
