Can you Spray Paint Bathroom faucets?...Oh yes you can!
By The Style Sisters - Thursday, March 29, 2012
Can you spray paint your bathroom faucets, lights, door handles and shower trim?
Will it last?....
Will it last?....
I have moved from this house so I don't know how it has held up...But I think as long as you don't use abrasive cleaners on the faucets they should last a long time. I would also ask your local paint guy at Lowe's or Home Depot if there is some sort of sealer to put over them to protect them from hard water spots.
I have recently moved the entire DIY over to my new blog here
Sorry for the inconvenience

I'm glad to see someone else do this! I spray painted my bathtub faucet black last year and it has held up great! I replaced the other faucets. but the bathtub ones were $250 and up...not happening! Mine has held really well so far. I would love to do the edge of the shower door, but was not brave enough. Beautiful!! Love the blue!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! I can't believe how great it turned out...a lot of work but worth it..just great! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat job. It looks fabulous. I used oil rubbed bronze to paint my bathroom lights, and yes, what a difference. Everything looks amazing. Great job. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWow, this is quite a transformation...looks wonderful. I have been thinking of spray painting my bathroom mirrors. You have given me the push to do it.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sherry
Love it, love it, love it. I've been thinking about doing this also but with an oil rubbed bronze finish. Yours looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYOu should have your own home improvement show! I can't believe all you can do! Your bathroom is stunning and so upscale! I have 5 bathrooms ( I know I must have been crazy!) that could use a facelift!
ReplyDeleteYvonne
I never would have thought to do that in a million years. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
Hello my love, Yes, you have done it again. I agree with Yvonne, you should hve your own home improvement show and......you could start with your very own mothers. YES?
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful and I love, love, love it!

great job! I knew the house for sale pics I saw earlier were nice but looks like you worked really hard to get them that way. lol
ReplyDeletegreat job! I have always wanted to do this; I just didn't know how it would hold up. Very impressive!
ReplyDeleteWow this looks fantastic! I'm going to try it on my ugly door handle on my front door!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteDramatic is right! What a huge difference it makes. LOVE how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteWould share exactly what spray paint and brand you used. I would like to try this with my bathroom.
ReplyDeleteThanks - Kari
What brand did you use? I am totally going to do this with my awful brass fixtures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your bathroom re-do. We're getting ready to do ours too and now I don't need to spend lots of bucks to do it!
ReplyDeleteWould love to know how you painted the trim on the shower door. We have the same type. How did you tackle the silicone at the joints?
Thanks for sharing your inspiration.
Great job! Just curious as to how you protected the surrounding tub area when spray painting the shower trim. Also, did you use a base coat / primer? How is it holding up?
ReplyDeleteYour post was inspiration to me! I have spray painted every. single. door knob and hinge in our house and they are looking great so far. My husband suggested I spray paint the faucets but I hesitated...until I read this. I am so glad I found your blog through the DIY show off! Now I know it can be done. I'd probably seal the faucets with some kind of clear sealer too, did you? Also, yes, let me know if you figure out a way to get the cracks out of your sink, I'd love to know!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to have found your blog. I have the gold knobs and fixtures in just about every room of my home and have been considering painting them. I know that it would cost far less than buying all new. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to giving it a try.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Make sure to use a primer! Rustoelum makes one that is a metal primer. I also sanded my knobs and stuff before that. Infarrantly Creative has a great tutorial: http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/2010/03/spray-painting-door-knobs.html
ReplyDeleteHi. Greetings. This post is really good and blog is really interesting. It gives good details.

Bathrooms should have clean appearance. Especially if you are going to try to sell a house, this area is one the main areas of the house the wife are looking at, with the other being the kitchen. Thinking of getting a bathtub paint job done, that's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm just now discovering your great blog & I noticed it's been about a year since this post. So I'm wondering how the paint on the faucet fixtures has worn?! Inquiring minds want to know! Would you please shoot me an email & let me know? mishlunt@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWarmly, Michelle
As with Michelle, I too am curious how the paint on the faucets is holding up. I'd also like to know the exact process you used to prepare & paint your faucets & what products you used. Please email me, skhaynie1@msn.com. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI also would LOVE to know how the faucets are holding up as we are doing a remodel and would like to spend the faucet replacement money on other items. Please email me at daveandmags@gmail.com. Thanks

Could you send me an email telling me what kind of paint that you used. I would so love to do my bathroom this way. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWould you mind telling me the brand for the paint you used for the faucet?

It's perfect time to make some plans for the future and It's time to be happy. I have read this post and if I could I desire to suggest you some interesting things or advice. Perhaps you can write next articles referring to this article. I desire to read even more things about it!
ReplyDeleteBrine Clutch X Unstrung Lacrosse Head
I was really excited to read this article but disappointed that the blogger hasn't responded to inquiries about the faucet paint holding up. I can only assume at this point that it hasn't...or has it?
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I love it. I quickly scanned through the post..did you replace your vanity completely or paint the old vanity? I read that you painted the facets black..did I miss something? I am making a list up for our handyman/home remodeler and the Main bathroom that guest use is on our "Wish List" I'd like to frame out the mirror and replace the lights above the mirror. The old vanity is the builder orginal in 1977. We have replaced the toilet and the bathtub is in good condition. Been used only 3 or 4 times in 7 yrs. We are shower people..so I'm going to let that go unless we have it sprayed professionally but don't want to go to that expense. We just replaced the toilet..and plumber told us there are 2 layers of flooring in addition to the original ceramic tile..We think the last layer is cheap sheeting type and I can live with that for a while. It's easy to keep clean and to mop.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering if the old vanity which is probably the MDF wood, will it paint up well? Has anybody ever had any experience with this?
Everything looks awesome but I'm wondering how you painted the shower trim. Did you take it all apart and spray it, or did you hand paint it? How well did it wear?

ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. I was checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Extremely helpful information specially the last part I care for such info much.
I saw this post on your sidebar and since I have black toille in one of our bathrooms this really got my attention. WOW it r e a l l y made a difference with all the paint etc etc. Your husband did an excellent job. Well done!! Can't believe the before and after pictures. You have given me some really good ideas. Thanks for sharing this dramatic transformation!!
ReplyDeleteNann
Awesome Job! I'm so glad to have found this site because I want to paint my bathroom fixtures too! I saw on EHOW where it says to sand every inch of the surface to be painted with a 220 grit so the paint will adhere. Then spray 1 coat of a metal primer/2 coats of metal paint/2 coats of a protective lacquer and it should make them very durable. This is going to save me SOOOOO much money instead of replacing the fixtures!! I just knew this had to be possible! So glad I checked the internet!!
DeleteI think it will become more stunning and beautiful when we put extra effort on its painting and designs.
ReplyDeleteGood info painting cock and basin are really nice idea
ReplyDeleteYour blogs and information attracts me to come back again n again.

Spray Coater evolved from airbrushes, and the two are usually distinguished by their size and the size of the spray pattern they produce. Wow, you can really see the result of using a spray in painting, amazing!
ReplyDeletecute vanities. collection is equally good as this store. would really love to see more post on the hardware and plumbing accessories.
ReplyDeleteA new bathroom sink can go a long way in revitalizing your bathroom. When you’re on a strict budget, this may be a good way to change the look of your bathroom without breaking the bank.
ReplyDeleteI like your black color tapes. I get a lot of ideas from this blog for my bathroom. You can also repaint your sink by texturing or use plaster of paris to full lines.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed designs of this post, and love your blog. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely love to put spray paint on future bathtub faucet after saving up money to buy one of those affordable acrylic bathtubs out there.
ReplyDeleteIm going to try the spray paint on the faucets as well, if it doesnt look right, Im only out $7. I was going to try it before I replaced them. They work great, just dont like the color! Yours looks amazing!

ReplyDeleteI had never considered doing this with spray paint. From the pictures it looks like it works out pretty well. I will have to try this out with my own bathroom fixtures in Edmonton and hopefully it will turn out as well as yours.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait until I stop flipping houses. Then I can finally do this kind of stuff for my forever home and have it just the way I want it! Its not so fun when your not doing it for you to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much to provide me great information about painting. Everyone can make their home beautiful with your informative blog.
