I'm glad to see someone else do this! I spray painted my bathtub faucet black last year and it has held up great! I replaced the other faucets. but the bathtub ones were $250 and up...not happening! Mine has held really well so far. I would love to do the edge of the shower door, but was not brave enough. Beautiful!! Love the blue!

Great job! Just curious as to how you protected the surrounding tub area when spray painting the shower trim. Also, did you use a base coat / primer? How is it holding up?

Your post was inspiration to me! I have spray painted every. single. door knob and hinge in our house and they are looking great so far. My husband suggested I spray paint the faucets but I hesitated...until I read this. I am so glad I found your blog through the DIY show off! Now I know it can be done. I'd probably seal the faucets with some kind of clear sealer too, did you? Also, yes, let me know if you figure out a way to get the cracks out of your sink, I'd love to know!

I am so excited to have found your blog. I have the gold knobs and fixtures in just about every room of my home and have been considering painting them. I know that it would cost far less than buying all new. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to giving it a try.

Bathrooms should have clean appearance. Especially if you are going to try to sell a house, this area is one the main areas of the house the wife are looking at, with the other being the kitchen. Thinking of getting a bathtub paint job done, that's a great idea.

I was really excited to read this article but disappointed that the blogger hasn't responded to inquiries about the faucet paint holding up. I can only assume at this point that it hasn't...or has it?

Great job! I love it. I quickly scanned through the post..did you replace your vanity completely or paint the old vanity? I read that you painted the facets black..did I miss something? I am making a list up for our handyman/home remodeler and the Main bathroom that guest use is on our "Wish List" I'd like to frame out the mirror and replace the lights above the mirror. The old vanity is the builder orginal in 1977. We have replaced the toilet and the bathtub is in good condition. Been used only 3 or 4 times in 7 yrs. We are shower people..so I'm going to let that go unless we have it sprayed professionally but don't want to go to that expense. We just replaced the toilet..and plumber told us there are 2 layers of flooring in addition to the original ceramic tile..We think the last layer is cheap sheeting type and I can live with that for a while. It's easy to keep clean and to mop.

I'm just wondering if the old vanity which is probably the MDF wood, will it paint up well? Has anybody ever had any experience with this?

Everything looks awesome but I'm wondering how you painted the shower trim. Did you take it all apart and spray it, or did you hand paint it? How well did it wear?

I had never considered doing this with spray paint. From the pictures it looks like it works out pretty well. I will have to try this out with my own bathroom fixtures in Edmonton and hopefully it will turn out as well as yours.
