Layered Lemon Cake with whip cream and fruit

Here is an easy dessert that makes it look like you have spent lots of time and effort to make.

Lemon cake with whipped cream, 4th of a July dessert

This is a lemon box cake mix that I made but I used 4 eggs, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup oil, 3/4 cup sour cream. Bake at 350 until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Once cake is done and cooled, cut each cake layer in half so you have 4 layers. Start with one layer and frost with fresh whipped cream that has sugar and vanilla added to it, add your favorite sliced fruit. I used sliced strawberries and sliced peaches.

There was not one piece left!

  1. You did a fantastic job! I really enjoy when you feature this type of work. While I realize that you definitely choose different finishes based on sell-ability, it's really nice that you at least go way better than the standard "builder grade" stuff that's been seen. You've got my dream job- I'd love to pick finishes like this! Anyway, great job.
