Sugarplum Fairy Tablescape
My grandkids are with me this week and I decided to get out a little Christmas starting with the dining room. I turned it into a Sugarplum fairy room!
My granddaughter loves...the Fancy Nancy books...so that was part of my inspiration for all the bright colors.
On the table I started with a white tablecloth and layered two pieces of bright colored fabric, pink and turquoise blue. Then I added a silvery leafy garland and another pastel ball garland down the center with a few more bright colored pink ball ornaments mixed in. Two large clear jars filled with silver bells and some very glittery pink reindeer.
Hanging off the chandelier are more brightly colored ornaments to bring in the whole fun color theme.
I love the huge glass jars filled with silver jingle bells for a simple yet festive centerpiece.
I really wanted to fill the entire room with snowflakes haha but that would have taken me all night long!
I just have the best time being with my grandkids...it really beings out the kid in me.

Holiday Tablescape Sneak Peeks
Here are a few of our Thanksgiving tablescape ideas using natural elements as well as faux. We tried to focus on using things that most people would have around the house or could be purchased inexpensively. Then we added a few embelishments like sheet moss and old books! It has turned out better than expected. We will have a few how-to's to follow in the coming week with this as well.
I am hoping to get ourselves on Good Things Utah but everytime I mention it my daughter just rolls her eyes. Rude! I am funny!
Put some fake garland wrapped with white lights on the fireplace mantel and added a few apothacary jars, a bottle brush tree and a darling nutcraker.
Next I decided to deck the sideboard in the dining room with more fake garland wrapped in white lights. I had found these adorable green and red topiaries last year when shopping with my daughter Madeline at Garden Ridge and put them on either side. Here's the 9 foot Tree all done up.
Close up of the wreath...I think I need to fix the ribbon a bit.
Next up will be the kitchen if I get it done.
Hot Pink, Lime Green and Turquoise Christmas Tree
When my girls were younger I would let them pick out unique Christmas ornaments to put on small trees in their rooms. They always seemed to pick these bright and wild colors and so as the years have passed they have collected many fun brightly colored ornaments.
Now that my oldest is married she wants more of the traditional looking ornaments so Emily gets to keep all these crazy ones for now. I keep asking her if this is the kind of tree she wants to have someday when she is married and she always answers .."of course! I love sparkly, shiny, foofy looking things and my husband and family will just have to love it too!" I love it!Emily draped the fabric around the base and it looks awesome!
