My daughter and I attended a really cute
DIY Country Wedding Reception
in a barn last weekend and I tried to take as many photos as I could...but alas some of the pics are not so great but I think you will still see the details well enough to enjoy!
Centerpieces
They used large mason jars that they painted a yummy blue color. They placed the jars on a round piece of bark that has lace and pearls on it.
Around the main centerpiece they used thrift store mini goblets with small bouquets of fresh flowers in them.
Some of the goblets were spray painted to match the big blue mason jars.
Dessert Table
I fell in love with this side board painted blue and used as a dessert table. You will notice that my friend made a few of her cake plates using my idea that I posted here..IKEA no glue cake plate they are nice a big and hold a lot of goodies! Another fabulous idea they did was to use big glass jars filled with cookies.
Here you can see the DIY white IKEA cake plate to the left its so easy to make! Notice the old trunk turned on its side to display more goodies! So Creative!
Soup and Grilled Cheese Bar
A cute chandelier hung above the soup and mini grilled cheese sandwich bar! Very cute idea! I couldn't get a great picture because so many people were blocking the soup bar area. Another great idea to crate a backdrop using old farm house doors leaned up against the wall with a darling rag banner strung across it...no need for nails, tape or staples!
An old crate made a great pedestal for this pretty urn filled with fresh roses!
Lemonade Stand
Are you dying over this lemonade stand?!! Everything was done so nicely..little vignettes every where in the barn.
Thank You Gifts
Caramel apples were given out as a thank you! What a fabulous idea! I have a yummy caramel Apple recipe here if you need one!
This barn is pretty good sized as you can tell looking at the crowd of people but they really made it feel cozy and cute with all their details. The tablecloths were burlap with brown silky blanket trim all around the edge to give it a nice look.
Wedding Cake
The beautiful wedding cake was displayed on top of big old barrel..so many great ideas!
The darling bride and groom in their first dance as Mr. And Mrs :) Don't you love how the little girl in braids is just in awe watching them dance...Sooo precious!
Polaroid Pictures
As we left there was this little patio area where a person took your picture using a new Polaroid camera and then the little pics were strung up using s string and mini clothes pins!
This is a picture of the picture they took that night. I didn't even know there were technology based polaroid cameras out there! Very cool! There were more ideas but I couldn't get the lighting to work with my iPhone but hopefully you have gotten some great ideas!

Last week on the Style Sisters
Lets get to partying!!
Last week my sweet Hubby and I got to fulfill one of my long time dreams!! I have wants to see the east coast during the fall season for 30 years!
We will be celebrating our 30 year anniversary next month so when he had the opportunity to go back east for business we decided to lengthen the trip by a couple of days so we could see some sites! We were able to go to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, And Maine...ooooh it was a dream come true!
From tiny little fishing villages and beautiful ocean views to wooded areas covered with leaves that were turning all the fall colors to the downtown hustle and bustle city of Boston... I loved it all!

Spectacular ocean front homes
My personal favorite...neighborhoods with cottage looking homes surrounded by huge trees in all their glory!
Of course the food was to die for! Fresh seafood!

Darling antique shops all along the way
I could not get enough of the little towns and the trees!!
Downtown Boston has a place called Mike's pastry where you have to stand in lines to get one of these delectable cannolis!!! So worth the wait!! We had a pistachio Canolli!...I wonder if they could ship me some?!!
It was a fast and furious 3 days filled with sights, sounds and smells that I will never forget! Thanks my love for making my dream come true!

Fashion Friday- Houndstooth pants and another outfit with the blue shirt

This week for Fashion Friday I am highlighting my Old Navy Blue shirt again and my Old Navy Houndstooth pants!
Remember I talked about these pants a few weeks ago? Well I went and tried them on and loved them and Ka Ching...they were on sale for $25.00. I knew I could pull this outfit together using my blue shirt...I am still on my quest to see how many outfits I can create using this blue shirt! If you missed my other two blue shirt outfits they are My At home casual look and last weeks Yellow mustard outfit
Layering is such a great way to bring in color and warmth. Normally I don't wear crew neck sweaters because it makes me look to bulky but when I added the vest it totally works. This vest is from Old Navy last year. Then I added a little sparkle (Jcrew outlet) necklace...this is my favorite necklace!
These pants are soooo comfortable! My daughter took these silly pictures of me.
I really like how this outfit is casual comfortable and yet pulled together enough to go out with my hubby.
I am thinking when it gets chilly I could wear boots with them for a totally different look.
I can't wait to wear these pants with all different colored shirts, sweaters, jackets...what color do you think would be fun to wear with these pants?
What about a floral shirt?
