A simple addition of bead board to the back of my IKEA shelving unit and its a whole new piece!
Here is the shelving before with no back piece on it. My dishes just don't show up.
I went over to Lowes and bought a piece of bead board $20.00 and had them cut it to my specifications 36"wide x 76"high it left me with some large leftover pieces... I will find another use for those pieces. This is the back of the shelving unit before the board was put on.
We used small finish nails to attach the board to the back. This is back of the unit with board on it...sorry the pic is kinda funky with the lighting.
Within a few minutes... It was done!! No painting required!
I love the detailing and how it makes my cute dishes pop.
Remember how this looked in my red kitchen nook?
I have always loved white dishes and especially these lettered dishes from TJmaxx years ago. My lettered dishes look so cute in this lime green Tablescape

ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!! I used that very same beadboard on a tea shelf I made a number of years ago now. It's up in our attic until I feel its time to pull out again, but I won't ever get rid of it. :) Really made everything pop that was put infront of it, just as you found out.
