Centerpiece Wednesday- Heat Stroke!
Hi All...sorry Centerpiece Wednesday is late! One of our young friends (24) ended up getting heat stroke from working in the hot sun all day and we had to take him to the hospital last night :( poor guy I had no idea heat stroke could make you so sick...even life threatening. He was so dehydrated they ended up giving him 5 liters of fluids! Along with throwing up multiple times he became very disoriented and earlier had passed out a couple of times. Watching his body shake with uncontrollable twitching and knowing his temperature was 104 was a little scary to say the least! The nurses and emergency doc worked trying to bring down the fever for hours using ice packs under his arm pits and his groin. When you have heat stroke they worry about kidney failure and all sorts of other complications with your organs. He is doing much better, I just took him home from the hosptial but he is still dizzy and out of it as you can imagine.
Lesson learned- Keep hydrated especially when you are out in the hot sun during the summer!
Okay now that that is over let's party!
