Welcome Autumn with Fall Tablescapes

By The Style Sisters - Sunday, November 03, 2013

While visiting my daughter we decided to use some of her yellow and red dishes and things from her yard to create a lovely fall tablescape.
Thanksgiving Tablescape using natural things
We tried to use as many natural elements as possible..Fresh thyme sprigs were used as napkin rings.

The centerpiece was made from weeping birch twigs from her yard placed inside the round glass sald bowl layered with a faux gord and fresh apples and pears.

Madeline had made these leaf place cards a few years back and stored them in a book..she used a calligraphy pen to write our names on the leaves.

In this large jar Madeline filled it with dried split peas to add color and texture. For another inexpensive vase she used a baby food jar to hold fresh herbs. Small clear votive candle holders were wrapped in leaves secured with a rubber band.

A fun thing to do with small children is gather fall leaves and have them paint them with tempura paints. Madeline hand painted these blue triangles on a leaf for an artsy look and when sprinkled on the table adds a unique flair.

Here I am "Martha-ing" it up with the delicious smelling thyme bouquet I picked.
Happy Thanksgiving
