Simple Pumpkin Topiary - The Style Sisters

Simple Pumpkin Topiary

By The Style Sisters - Thursday, October 03, 2013

For the last few years I have always made a pumpkin topiary or two for my porch because I love how they looked all stacked up.

This picture below is the first topiary I made back when we lived in Texas...I cut off the stems of the bottom 2 pumpkins and stacked them up adding a little hot glue to stabilize them. I then added leaves in between with a little more hot glue.

This year my hubby made our topiaries...he simply cut off the stems of the bottom two and stacked them..NO glueing for him...they are pretty solid and don't seem to rock and roll. The urns are plastic ones from Lowes spray painted black....and we stuck a grapevine wreath intertwined with a small leaf garland around the edge of the urn..NO glueing at all.

Here is our porch all ready for fall.

Here are some fun ideas for pumpkin topiaries that I think you will love..These are from Better homes and gardens...I would love to make some of these one day.

I love the ideas of adding a dowel to raise up a small pumpkin

Love the addition of the striped nose and arms and it looks like a tutu

This one wins the prize for me!! Wow there must be some serious dowels connecting all of these pumpkins together. I did try using kabob sticks one year but the pumpkins deteriorated rather quickly so now we don't poke the pumpkins at all...we just stack-em!

  3. Your pumpkin stack looks great. I've never tried it although I have bought the more flat ones that would work. I wondered about poking them because it seems like they would spoil quicker. Glad you mentioned it. Those other ones from BH&G are great!
    So much creativity!
