MY RED SOFA - The Style Sisters

MY RED SOFA

By The Style Sisters - Thursday, November 06, 2008

Remember back awhile ago I was debating on whether or not to change my green sofa to some other color with a slipcover?
Here is the new and improved
RED SOFA I bought a new slipcover for the sofa. (It is an Ikea sofa so they always have new fun slipcovers for it...pretty inexpensive too).
This is the before picture with the green slipcover on it.I really really wanted to do a white slipcover but with my brown Labrador I would have to be washing it constantly...so that was out! (But I still dream of a beautiful white slipcover...... someday...) So....I decided to buy a dark denim slipcover and thought I would get lots of big white pillows to put on it. Well I got it home and hated it immediately....I took it back (which is a pain in the rear with Ikea) and exchanged it with a red corduroy slipcover and I LOVE IT! I also decided to add a black and white striped slipcover to the club chair to break it up a bit. I really did not think I would like it...I thought it would be too much red..... but I just love it and it does not show the dirt or hair from the dog. My house will definitely be ready for Christmas with all the red in the family room, and the plaid red, green and yellow in my living room and dining room.
All those colors really do make me happy.

  5. I have a sofa and loveseat that is about 15 years old and moving into my new house I really need a slipcover. I will have to look around for one cause my budget does not require a new sofa yet...maybe in another year or so.

    Love yours!

  10. I LOVE it, LOVE it!! Awesome. And how cute that you have the suitcases stacked for an end table. I can't wait until we're out of the toddler stage so I can do that, and they won't be dragged all over the house! :)

  25. I just brought the Ikea corner sofa home today, and I got the white. I've been a nervous wreck all day, as I have two small kids. My 19 month old smeared herself over three of the cushions already. So I am going next week to get the red corduroy. I love your pictures. I had a white couch previously, but somehow the fabric didn't show dirt as badly because it was a flowery pattern white on white.
The Ikea white is very pretty but impractical.
Your blog looks cute! I'll read more!

  26. When furnishing a small space, a sectional leaves provides you with more space. When compared with the other type of sofas, a sectional sofa is advantageous because it probably ends at three pieces.

    Good to know.....
